IRRIGATIA NEWS UPDATE:
  • Give Your Business a Boost this Summer

    15/03/17 12:08

If your commercial property lacks curb appeal, then summer floral hanging baskets are a simple way to make a bold statement and enhance your pub, restaurant, hotel or office workplace.

A colourful, inviting and well maintained display of plants and flowers could make the difference between customers walking in or simply walking by.  However, the main issue with hanging baskets is that they dry outquickly so need to be kept watered regularly, particularly on hot days.

The perfect solution that matches requirement to weather conditions is a solar powered automatic watering system like the Irrigatia kit which naturally delivers to plants their liquid needs when they most need them.

Unlike electronic timer systems that deliver water at a set time, the Irrigatia system automatically judges their needs and waters every three hours.  The longer the daylight hours and the greater the light intensity in a day the more the system waters.   The volume of water can be manually adjusted to suit individual watering needs and the kit can water up to 5m in height.

Irrigatia uses up to 90% less water than a hose or sprinkler and because the drip-feeding point is at the soil level, there is no risk of scorching or burning foliage.  The water comes direct from a nearby water butt and, if these are not available, a reservoir can be purchased to connect to a tap.  Liquid feed can also be added to the watering process.Irrigatia - Hanging Baskets

    20/10/16 02:58

Irrigatia’s unique solar powered irrigation system takes the hard work out of watering and uses up to 90% less water than a hose or sprinkler.  Designed for use in greenhouses and outside, the Irrigatia system naturally delivers the most appropriate liquid needs when plants most need it – when the sun is shining.

Unlike electronic timer systems that deliver water at a set time, regardless of the weather, this solar powered package automatically judges their needs and waters every three hours.    The longer the daylight hours and the greater the light intensity in a day the more the system waters.   The volume of water can also be manually adjusted to suit individual watering needs.

The water comes direct from a nearby water butt and, if this is not available, a reservoir can be purchased.  Liquid feed can also be added to the watering process.

The Irrigatia system is ideal for use in glasshouses, vegetable gardens and allotments, for house plants, containers, hanging baskets, pots or plants and shrubs planted in the open garden.

All that is needed is an adjacent water supply and somewhere to hang the solar panel and control box to capture maximum sunlight which it stores in rechargeable batteries.

  • Help Your Hanging Baskets from Drying Out this Summer!

    30/08/16 10:02

There are many benefits to growing hanging baskets, especially if you have a small garden or simply want to add a splash of colour and blossom up a doorway, wall or patio - they are great gap fillers.

However, the main issue with hanging baskets is that they dry out quickly so need to be kept watered regularly, particularly on hot days.

The perfect solution that matches requirement to weather conditions is a solar powered automatic watering system like the Irrigatia kit which naturally delivers to plants their liquid needs when they most need them.

In addition to hanging baskets, Irrigatia is ideal for vegetable gardens and allotments, glasshouses, house plants, containers, pots or plants and shrubs planted out in the garden.  All that is needed is an adjacent water supply and somewhere to hang the solar panel and control box to capture maximum sunlight which it stores in rechargeable batteries.

“We recommend customers use the soluble feed of their choice at ¼ of the normal recommended concentration, dissolved in the rain barrel.  Tomatoes should be kept a little on the dry side until first fruit is set, then keep them well watered but don’t drown them.

“Peppers and cucumbers will be happy enough with the same regime.  Chilli’s want to be kept warmer and well-watered at this time of year, but drier as they approach maturity to boost the spiciness.

“You will get better flavoured tomatoes by watering with plenty of potash and not allowing them to get too lush, but go too far and they will get blossom end rot.”

  • IRRIGATIA IS THE TOMATO SITTER!

    09/06/16 12:27

Irrigatia was established in 2005 by professional tomato grower and inventor of the solar automatic watering system, George Evans.

A recent online customer survey conducted by Irrigatia found that homeowners are enjoying complete peace of mind when on holiday knowing their prized plants back home are getting their liquid needs when required, delivered naturally by their automatic watering system – therefore not having to rely on friends, family or neighbours.

Unlike electronic timer systems that deliver water at a set time, this solar powered system automatically judges their needs and waters every three hours.  The longer the daylight hours and the greater the light intensity in a day the more the system waters.   The volume of water can be manually adjusted to suit individual watering needs.

More than 350 homeowners across the UK participated in the Irrigatia online survey.  Over 70% stated ‘holiday watering’ was the key reason they choose the Irrigatia system followed by the fact that it uses rainwater from a water butt, and is weather responsive.

  • IRRIGATIA LAUNCH NEW VERTICAL GARDEN RANGE AT THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW

    18/05/16 12:03

Irrigatia, the brains behind the only fully automatic solar powered watering system in Europe, is to officially launch its new range of innovative vertical gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Ideal for adding decoration to walls, fences and even garden sheds, the vertical gardens are designed to increase the amount of plants that can be grown in small areas.

Perfect for all gardens and even balconies the range includes the new Picture Garden Kit.  It comes complete with a treated self-assembly wooden frame which can be painted to match and compliment any garden landscape.  Each unit has four rails and can take up to 16 pots (included) which are easily removable for planting herbs, flowers, vegetables and salads, or maintenance purposes.

It is designed to be used with drip irrigation systems and linked to adjacent taps.  However, when combined with an automatic solar powered Irrigatia system, a water butt can be used and the plants will be watered every three hours and for longer when sunny.

Ideal for growing fruit and vegetables as well as decorative plants, the new space saving Vertical Fruit & Veg Garden comes with a complete irrigation kit which can be connected to your hosepipe, or it can be used with an Irrigatia solar watering kit.

With four small pots, two medium and two large pots – this kit is easy to mount, access and maintain.  Other features include four 600mm support rails that can be screwed directly on to a wall, fence or shed at whatever height you require.

The drainage trough is hung on the bottom rail to collect any excess water which can be easily recycled.

Also new in the vertical garden range is the Vertical Herb & Flower Garden which includes 12 small pots, four 600mm support rails and drippers.

Perfect for growing a variety of herbs and flowers, this kit’s drainage trough is also hung on the bottom rail to collect any excess water and can be used with an Irrigatia solar watering system.

“Vertical gardens or green walls are a wonderful alternative for many gardeners who simply do not have a lot of outdoor space.  They provide beautiful garden décor and are easy to mount and maintain,” says Erick Mackay, Sales and Marketing director of the North Yorkshire based Irrigatia.

When combined with an Irrigatia solar powered watering kit the main issue that used to be associated with vertical growing – that it needs regular watering or the plants dry out very quickly - is overcome.  Irrigatia systems can water up to 5m in height and drippers are attached to the top row of pots, which then filters down through the drainage holes into the pots below.  Any excess water is then collected in the drainage trough and collected for easy recycling.”

The Picture Garden Kit retails at: £79.95

The Vertical Fruit & Veg Garden retails at: £59.95

The Vertical Herb & Flower Garden retails at: £49.95

  • CARE-FREE HOLIDAYING THANKS TO IRRIGATIA

     Irrigatia reservoir

A recent online customer survey conducted by Irrigatia - the brains behind the only fully automatic solar powered system in Europe – has found that homeowners are enjoying complete peace of mind when on holiday knowing their prized plants back home are getting their liquid needs when required, delivered naturally by their automatic watering system.

More than 350[1] homeowners across the UK participated in the online survey.  Over 70%[2] stated ‘holiday watering’ was the key reason they choose the Irrigatia system followed by the fact that it uses rainwater from a water butt, and is weather responsive.

Fifty six percent[3] stated the Irrigatia system has helped them to save between 20-30 minutes a day with a staggering 86%[4] seeing very positive results on their plants.  Many are also enjoying a reduction in water usage compared to the watering can.

“Unlike electronic timer systems that deliver water at a set time, regardless as to whether the plant needs it, the Irrigatia solar powered package automatically judges their needs and waters every three hours.  The longer the daylight hours and the greater the light intensity in a day, the more the system waters,” says Erick Mackay, Sales and Marketing Director of the North Yorkshire based Irrigatia.

“It gives people the freedom to spend more time away from home not having to worry or rely on their neighbours, friends or family to water plants in their absence.  The volume of water can be manually adjusted to suit individual watering needs.”

Irrigatia is ideal for vegetable gardens and allotments, house plants, containers, hanging baskets, pots or plants and shrubs planted out in the garden and under glass.  All that is needed is an adjacent water supply and somewhere to hang the solar panelled control box to capture maximum sunlight which it stores in rechargeable batteries.

They work anywhere including balconies on high-rise buildings or allotments where no power – other than natural sunshine – is available.

  • NOW YOU CAN WATER THE PLANTS WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING

    31/03/16 11:05

    September 2015

Irrigatia says their only real competitors are the watering can or hose and theirs is the only fully automatic solar powered system in Europe.
Unlike electronic timer systems that deliver water at a set time, regardless as to whether the plant needs it, this solar powered package automatically judges their needs and waters every three hours.    The longer the daylight hours and the greater the light intensity in a day the more the system waters.   The volume of water can be manually adjusted to suit individual watering needs.

“This is harnessing nature in an extremely clever way and because there is no electricity, and with huge water savings, it has high eco credibility,” says Erick Mackay, sales and marketing director of the North Yorkshire based Irrigatia.

“They work anywhere including balconies on high-rise buildings or allotments where no power – other than natural sunshine – is available.  It is the 21st century irrigation solution for domestic gardens,” adds Erick.     For more information go to www.irrigatia.com
